This kitchen is located in the heart of the home. The semi-circular island was created to delineate the kitchen from the adjacent living and dining rooms. It houses a custom curved stainless steel sink, dishwasher, and recycling drawer. The cabinets are constructed of cherry with contrasting birch panels. These two woods were chosen for their similar grain patterns. The islandís higher level is wrapped in green-stained bead board and topped with a solid cherry counter. This higher bar is not only great "hanging out" space, especially when entertaining, it also serves as a barrier to hide messy kitchen activity from the living room.
